Emma Lucille Hux Haskins, 81, of Halifax died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Guardian Care.

Mrs. Haskins was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Ernest Black Hux and Bessie Keeter Hux. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Haskins.

She is survived by four daughters, Eloise H. Foltz and her husband, Dave, of Roanoke Rapids, Deanie H. Bradley and her husband, Robert C., of Halifax, Phyllis H. Davis and her husband, Robert, and Billie H. Wynn and her husband, Pete, all of Roanoke Rapids; eight grandchildren, Steven Wade, Joey Bradley, Travis Davis, Ethan Davis, Derrick Wynn, Michelle Bradley, Lisa Bradley, and April Davis; three great-grandchildren, Mark Peterson, Jr., Logan Elizabeth Walters, and Taylor J. Walters; her great great-grandchild, Brett Anthony Peterson; and her sister, Peggy Askew of Roanoke Rapids.

Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 30, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 4060 Aurelian Springs Road in Halifax.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marjorie ''Jo'' Jordan and Esther Ruth Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
